Will P. Roberts, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

FALL 2024

The Will P. Roberts, Jr. Memorial Scholarship was established in remembrance of Will Pleasant Roberts, Jr., the late father of the former College of the Florida Keys President’s Office Executive Director, Debra Leonard. Mr. Roberts was a passionate electrician who built a business based on his reputation for expertise, reliability and generosity. In continuing the spirit of Mr. Roberts, the Will P. Roberts, Jr. Memorial Scholarship will support full-time, degree-seeking students enrolled in a career technical education program (A.S. Degree or A.A.S. Degree) at The College of the Florida Keys. *PLEASE NOTE THAT A.S. NURSING STUDENTS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO APPLY. *

Eligible students must have a complete 2024-25 FAFSA and a minimum GPA of 3.0. Award is for $1,000 and students must satisfy a minimum of 12cr hours for the award term. Scholarship monies can be used toward tuition and fees at The College of the Florida Keys for the upcoming semester.

Special consideration will be given to Monroe County High School Graduates and Florida residents.

Scholarship Recipients are also required to:

1. Confirm registration in courses at The College of the Florida Keys in the term in which the scholarship is to be used.
2. Complete a minimum of 4 hours of volunteer service with the donor and/or The College of the Florida Keys Foundation if requested. (Details will be sent separately if/when applicable.)
3. Attend the Annual College of the Florida Keys Scholarship Recipient & Donor Social at the Tennessee Williams Theatre on the William A. Seeker Campus in Key West during the Fall semester. The event will occur on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. Invitations will be distributed closer to the event.
4. Demonstrate and maintain the scholarship criteria and requirements.

The Foundation reserves the right to withdraw or modify the student’s award based on the student’s fulfillment of required scholarship criteria.
