DREAM STEM Grant Scholarship

FALL 2024

The DREAM STEM Grant is funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSI) and will provide scholarships and Dual Enrollment support for students pursuing a degree in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) at The College of the Florida Keys. Costs covered under the Grant include tuition (in-state tuition only) and course fees (e.g. lab fees) for STEM programs at CFK as long as students continue to meet eligibility requirements. Please note that if you are subject to out-of-state tuition, the grant will only cover the in-state tuition amount and the student will be responsible for any remaining tuition.

Grant disbursements are paid until the CFK program is complete (maximum of 2 years); if a student fails a specific course the scholarship will not cover the cost of taking the course for the 2nd time.

Eligible students must have a complete 2024-25 FAFSA on file, be a U.S. Citizen, and meet standards of satisfactory academic progress. Students must meet a minimum of 12 credit hours for each award term and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0.

Grant recipients must also agree to be employed by the College as STEM Ambassadors who will provide mentorship, tutoring, and promote STEM education in fun exciting ways (e.g. using Virtual Reality) in 3rd -12th grade programs. Students will be required to work 10-20 hours per week and will be paid $15.00 per hour in addition to the Grant. Grant recipients will also be eligible for a paid professional internship once their program is completed.
